"In Search of the Northern Star" is a print of original mixed media collage using Cattlemarkers, Watercolors, Acrylics, Fox Tail, Mountan Goat Fur, Peacock Feathers and Glow in the Dark Stars (in the original), collaged on 300# Arches watercolor paper. See if you can find the big dipper, the little dipper and the northern star.
I developed my own style of collage by using painted paper or recycled paintings. I cut or tear the painted paper into pieces and then assemble them into layers, often adding a variety of materials to adorn each image. Each brilliantly-colored and whimsical image tells its own story and is often a reflection of my own personal struggles and triumphs. I earned my bachelor of fine arts degree from Montana State University and currently resides in Bozeman, Montana. You can find more of my art at shirleyrobinett.com.
