“Catch & Release Brown @ the Gallatin” original collage is a replica of a 16-inch brown trout caught by my husband in the Gallatin River, Montana. This is a print of the original mixed media collage using cattlemarkers, watercolors, kosher salt, acrylics, colored pencil, sharpie and duck, partridge & sharptail grouse feathers
I developed my own style of collage by using painted paper or recycled paintings. I cut or tear the painted paper into pieces and then assemble them into layers, often adding a variety of materials to adorn each image. Each brilliantly-colored and whimsical image tells its own story and is often a reflection of my own personal struggles and triumphs. I earned my bachelor of fine arts degree from Montana State University and currently resides in Bozeman, Montana. You can find more of my art at shirleyrobinett.com.
