“Catch & Release Rainbow @ the Madison” is a replica of a 16” rainbow trout my husband caught on the Madison River, Montana. This is print of the original mixed media collage using cattlemarkers, watercolors, salt, and Montana sharp-tail, blue grouse, duck and partridge feathers.
I developed my own style of collage by using painted paper or recycled paintings. I cut or tear the painted paper into pieces and then assemble them into layers, often adding a variety of materials to adorn each image. Each brilliantly-colored and whimsical image tells its own story and is often a reflection of my own personal struggles and triumphs. I earned my bachelor of fine arts degree from Montana State University and currently resides in Bozeman, Montana. You can find more of my art at shirleyrobinett.com.
